On July 30 th HDDF held a slideshow in Pakenham to an audience of almost 200 people. The event was held outside and catered by Watt's Cooking. Doug Rotar and the AVW TELAV team played our slideshow on a huge outdoor screen complete with music and light show.

Two cashmere scarves, a handmade embroidered Pakistani wall hanging and an original framed photograph by Jason Watt were gifts that four people walked away with

The intensity of the pictures of Pakistan post earthquake made a very strong impact on the audience. Some of the comments we received about the show included:

‘The show was a beautiful photographic representation of one of the world's great tragedies, displayed with compassion honesty and sincerity.'
Mike Nolan

‘It was a real-life look into a desperate tragedy '
Laura Giles

‘The presentation made my heart ache for the amazing people of Pakistan.  With all the things they have been through, they still have hope and graceful pride.'
Jody Gleeson

Children's Book

Kristy Giles, has been busy writing and creating a children's book based on the Pakistan Project which made its preliminary launch among a group of children at St. Andrew's United Church Camp.  Reverend Heather Kinkaid was the inspiration behind the production of the book and a great supporter of the work in Pakistan.  The book will be heading into publication shortly.
